Terms of Service

These Terms are the rules for using Dukagram, a marketplace app where people in Tanzania post products and buy from each other. By creating an account or using Dukagram, you agree to them. Please read them carefully.

1. Who we are

Dukagram is run by [Owner full name], [City], Tanzania ("we", "us"). You can contact us at [contact email].

2. Who can use the app

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You must be at least 18 years old to buy or sell. If you are 13–17, you may browse, like, comment and follow, but not place orders or post products.
• You may have one personal account. Give true details and keep your phone, email and login codes to yourself; you are responsible for what happens on your account.

3. What Dukagram does

Dukagram connects buyers and sellers. We are not the seller of the products shown, and we do not own, check or store them. The contract for a sale is between the buyer and the seller.

We may help when something goes wrong (for example by looking at reports), but we cannot promise the quality, safety or legality of any item, or that a buyer or seller will do what they said.

4. Selling

• Post only items you own or are allowed to sell, with real photos, an honest description, the correct price in TZS and the correct stock.
• Say how buyers can get the item: pickup, delivery (with your fee), or agreed in chat. Keep to what you offered.
• When an order comes in, send or hand over the item as agreed and update the order status honestly.
• You are responsible for any taxes, licences and permits your selling needs.

5. Buying

• Read the description and ask the seller in chat if anything is unclear before you order.
• Give correct contact and delivery details, pay as agreed, and collect or receive the item as agreed.
• After a delivered order, you may leave one honest review.

6. Payments

Buyers can pay with mobile money (M-Pesa, Mixx by Yas, Airtel Money, HaloPesa) or in cash when they get the item. Mobile money payments are handled by licensed payment companies; we never see or keep your PIN.

Cash payments are made directly between the buyer and the seller.

7. Fees

Dukagram is free to use for now. If we start charging fees, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days before they apply, and they will never apply to orders already placed.

8. Things not allowed

You may not post, sell or ask for:

• weapons, ammunition or explosives; drugs, medicines that need a prescription, or alcohol and tobacco sold to under-18s;
• stolen, counterfeit or fake-brand goods; live animals or protected wildlife products;
• adult or sexual content, or anything that breaks Tanzanian law.

You may also not: scam or mislead people, ask to be paid outside the agreed ways to avoid an order, harass or threaten anyone, post other people's private details, pretend to be someone else, or use automated tools to copy or spam the app.

9. Reporting, blocking and our actions

You can report products and accounts and block people. We may remove content, hide products, remove a verified tick, or suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or put others at risk, usually after looking at a report. If you think we made a mistake, contact us at [contact email].

10. The verified tick

A verified tick means we checked that the account holder's name matches an official ID. It does not mean we guarantee the seller, their products or their service.

11. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, text and reviews you post. You allow us to show, store and resize them in Dukagram (and to show them when you share a product) for as long as they are in the app. Only post content you have the right to use.

12. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. This cannot be undone. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.

13. Limits of our responsibility

We work hard to keep Dukagram running and safe, but we provide it "as is" and cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by buyers, sellers or other users, by items bought or sold, or by events outside our control. Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have under Tanzanian consumer law.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app before it applies. If you keep using Dukagram afterwards, the new Terms apply.

15. Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. If we cannot solve a problem together, it will be decided by the courts of Tanzania.
